Matcha Popcorn

Matcha is an antioxidant powerhouse that boosts metabolism, detoxifies the body, calms the mind and enhances mood.

I have been introduced to matcha green tea by a friend just over a year ago. Soon after, I ordered some for myself and started making my own matcha tea and then I got hooked on matcha latte.

Knowing that Matcha tea is an easy and simple way to add powerful health benefits to your everyday diet, I decided that I had to start making some food-creations, using matcha.

 

The most simple one I could think of was Matcha Popcorn.

 

Ingredients:

1 tbsp. coconut oil

1/2 tbsp. Himalayan salt

1/2 cup. popcorn kernels

1 tbsp. matcha green tea

 

Directions:

Heat the coconut oil in a large pan on maximum heat. Add the salt and the popcorn, so that it only covers the bottom of the pan. Cover the lid and reduce the heat. Wait until all the popping sounds have stopped. Pour the popcorn in a bowl and sprinkle some matcha on the top. Stir gently to coat evenly.

I hope you enjoy the pleasant herbal flavouring of this popcorn as much as I do. It’s a great mid-afternoon snack that gives you an energy boost that helps you through the day, whether it’s work or getting the children from school to football practice. Enjoy!
